The Drago 2 corn header is high-efficiency equipment for harvesting corn without crop loss. Automatically adjustable disengagement plates adapt to each row, minimizing grain loss. Long conveying rollers ensure smooth stem capture, while the flat working angle and robust construction guarantee reliable operation even in challenging conditions. The header is easy to maintain, suitable for combines from various manufacturers, and quickly handles narrow row spacing and lodged crops.

How it works:

Olimac DRAGO corn headers and spare parts for them

Olimac is a European leader in the production of corn headers. The company produces 4-16 row corn headers of solid or folding design. Olimac’s leading position is due to the successful design of its headers, which allows for lossless corn harvesting and operation with minimal maintenance costs and time.

7 features and benefits of Olimac headers, Italy:

  1. The Olimac headers have the longest rollers, 67 cm, which are equipped with pulling knives (Fig. 1). Long rollers allow more time for the corn stalk to pass from top to bottom, so they rotate more slowly than in other headers. As a result, the cob does not jump up and fall to the ground when it hits the hood. The knives on the pulling rollers do not slip even on wet stalks and additionally chop the stalk into a “sausage”.
  2. Self-adjusting decks, Fig. 2. Depending on the incoming mass of corn, the decks, separately on each row, automatically adjust the gap in the range of 22-42 mm (which is not available in other reapers). When a single oppressed row or an area of the field with oppressed or small corn is hit, the decks of each row narrow individually and prevent the small cobs from falling to the ground. When corn kernels are scattered on the field (as if from a handful), they are small ears ground by the pulling rollers. This is not the case after the harvester.
  3. In addition to the pulling knives on the rollers, the header has self-sharpening horizontal knives, Fig. 3, which are placed in the center of the row and cover the cutting area well and perfectly chop the stalks. Chopping with two knives saves 20% fuel compared to three knives on other headers. Thanks to the tungsten carbide brazing on the knife blades, the knife body – the metal – is worn away and the brazed blade always remains razor sharp (self-sharpening effect). Thanks to constantly sharp knives, the load on the chopping mechanism of the header reduces, and the combine’s fuel consumption decreases.
  4. The drive chains (on the sides of the header) are housed in sealed oil baths, Fig. 4. This prevents dust from entering, heating and stretching of the chains. The service life is 2-3 seasons.
  5. The fluorescent hoods, Fig. 6, “glow” at night, reflecting the light of the combine. This allows the header to be guided well along the rows. The hoods are made of thin metal and dampen the impact of the heads of cabbage well. Due to their length (since the rollers are 67 cm), the hoods are almost horizontal to the ground and completely eliminate the ejection of the head “forward to the ground”.
  6. Only the Olimac header can be equipped with an optional sunflower harvesting adapter. The active cutting of sunflower stalks by the rotating segments prevents the seeds from spilling, and the low cost of this adapter saves money on the purchase of a sunflower header.
  7. Olimac reduces grain losses by at least 2 c/ha compared to all other headers. (Based on the results of research conducted by the Institute in Iowa, USA). At a corn price of 2000 UAH/ton, the Olimac reaper returns its cost on 1000 hectares in one season only by reducing losses.
