Equipment for storing grain in bags
Polymer sleeves (bags) for storage of grain and oilseeds
Polymer grain bags for cereals and oilseeds are a reliable solution for loss-free storage. With a capacity of 200–300 tons and a length of 60–90 m, they are designed for efficient large-scale use. The three-layer UV-stabilized structure protects the contents from sunlight for up to 18 months, while a wide temperature tolerance and a repair tape kit ensure long-term product quality. Grain is stored in anaerobic conditions, and the bags are easy to fill and unload. High strength and simple installation make these grain bags an ideal solution for farmers and grain storage facilities.

How it works:
Kobzarenko Plant LLC offers its customers polymer sleeves (bags) for storing grain and oilseeds manufactured by Planeta Plastic (TM Harwell Ukraine) and Plastar (Argentina).
Capacity of grain sleeves
- 60 m – 200 tons.
- 75 м. 250 т.
- 90 м. 300 т.
Complete set of grain sleeves:
- ruler, repair adhesive tape, instructions
Any grain crops can be stored in the “sleeve”, and haylage of all kinds, silage, legumes and oilseeds can also be stored. Accordingly, the higher the humidity, the shorter the shelf life.
Technology of grain storage in polymer sleeves
The essence of the silo bag technology is to store grain without air access. Three-layer base, the outer white layer is UV-stabilized, reflects solar radiation for 18 months (maximum use – 24 months)
The main principle of storage in polymer sleeves is to keep the grain in an anaerobic environment: during the respiration of grain and microorganisms, they consume oxygen, reducing its concentration and, at the same time, increasing the amount of carbon dioxide. This results in a natural preservation of the contents of the sleeve.
Almost all types of grain from the main crops can be stored in the sleeves. Most commonly, corn, sunflower, barley, soybeans, wheat, silage, and green mass are stored there. Ideally, the grain is placed in polymer sleeves at the basic moisture content for each crop. That is, for cereals, this is 14% moisture, for soybeans – 12%, sunflower – 8%, and so on.
Advantages of storing grain in sleeves:
- High quality grain.
For long-term storage in granaries and elevators, the moisture content of the grain should not exceed 14%. Grain with a moisture content of more than 14% can be loaded into plastic sleeves (depending on the temperature of the grain).
The process of storing wet corn in a sleeve helps to rapidly reduce the amount of mycotoxins, which in turn improves the quality of the produced feed from corn stored in the sleeve.
- Storage in the sleeves allows for precise grain sorting.
In an elevator, grain is always mixed with other people’s grain. Since elevators enter into storage contracts on the basis of grain depersonalization, farms may receive grain of worse quality than they delivered. When storing grain in sleeves, on the farm, the principle applies: what you put in, you get out.
- Natural protection against pests.
Since the grain is hermetically sealed with a sleeve, all pests die in it in 10-20 days.
When the sleeve is closed, the grain “breathes” for some time – it consumes oxygen, and due to insects and microorganisms, the oxygen level decreases and the carbon dioxide level increases. When there is no room to breathe, the pests die. Meanwhile, carbon dioxide is a natural preservative that helps preserve grain.
- Minimize costs.
There is no need to build additional elevators and dryers. One hectare can store 5,000 tons of grain.
- No queues and no downtime.
Farms that store grain in sleeves have already forgotten about queues and downtime for grain trucks at elevators. They put the sleeves in the most suitable place.
- Storage in all weather conditions
Rain, snow, direct sunlight, heat and cold, from -500Cto +500C. In fact, there are no restrictions.
- Grain sales at maximum prices
As a rule, the cheapest price for grain is at the time of harvest, when it is sold “off the field”. Later, the price increases. When storing grain in plastic sleeves, you can “hold on” to the grain until the next harvest. This gives you a very attractive and comfortable opportunity to sell grain when the price is highest.
Attention! We provide on favorable terms services from packaging grain into bags.
Kobzarenko Plant LLC offers polymer sleeves made in Ukraine and Argentina, and rents grain packaging equipment. The cost of storing 1 ton of grain, subject to the rental of a ZPM-180 grain packing machine with an operator, is 190 UAH/t (including the grain sleeve).
When renting grain packing equipment from Kobzarenko, you do not even need to buy additional polymer sleeves, because if you pack 400 tons of grain per day, you get sleeves for free! The capacity of the polymer sleeve is 200 tons. Length 60 m. Diameter 2.7 m. Thickness 240 microns.
